Spartanburg Medical Center Mary Black Campus (SMC-MB) is a division of Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. Our rehabilitation team consists of PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, and SLPs who work collaboratively to provide excellent patient care in our 230-bed acute care hospital and 18-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit. Our therapists are all cross-trained to cover both areas of therapy and have the opportunity to see a patient's progress across the continuum of care from the acute setting to the inpatient rehab setting. We also have a dynamic joint program that allows our therapists to see our joint patients on post-operative day one and assist the patient in achieving their goals quickly and effectively.

The Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients by referral. They plan treatment programs and perform therapy to restore function, prevent disability, and maximize the potential and quality of life following disease, injury, or surgery. They perform re-evaluations and supervisory visits as per state practice act. They appropriately modify treatment plans and procedures and use suitable communication techniques to achieve optimal results. They may supervise Rehab Techs and students. They participate in community presentations, staff education, and other departmental activities as requested by the supervisor, manager, or director.
