Job summary

Community Health Systems in Carlsbad, NM is seeking a Speech Therapist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, social communication, and swallowing disorders in both children and adults. The role develops and implements individualized treatment plans, collaborates with physicians and caregivers, and ensures continuity of care through education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• 1–3 years as a Speech Therapist in a clinical, hospital, or rehabilitation setting.
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies and dysphagia management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
• Develops individualized treatment plans to improve communication and outcomes.
• Performs MBS evaluations in collaboration with Radiology and reports results.
• Documents progress and maintains accurate medical records daily.
• Coordinates referrals and educates patients and families for continuity of care.
• Maintains compliance with billing, coding, and HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to maximize therapy outcomes.
• Ensures regular attendance and adherence to policies.
