Day in the life of a Home Health Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP):

• Patient Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities within their home environment.
• Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals.
• Implementation of Therapy Interventions: Provide skilled speech therapy services using evidence-based techniques and exercises.
• Patient and Family Education: Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies and exercises to maintain or improve swallowing function.
• Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Team Communication: Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
• Current Openings: PRN, as needed basis

Qualifications

Education

Required: Masters or better in Speech-Language Pathology.

Experience

Required: Previous home health or direct patient care experience preferred.

Certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, or ASHA.

Graduate of an accredited speech-language pathology master’s program.

Currently licensed as a Speech Therapist in the state of Iowa.
