Job summary

Terrace Health & Rehab Center in Gainesville, FL is seeking a compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for PRN coverage. The role focuses on recovery of speech, language, swallowing and cognitive function in our skilled nursing residents.

You will create individualized treatment plans, teach communication techniques, educate patients and families, and coordinate with the dietary team for swallow-safe meals. Commitment to post-acute rehab and elder care is essential.

Qualifications

Current Speech Language Pathologist License in the state.
CPR certification is required.
At least 1 year of Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
Exceptional patient service skills and clinical excellence.
Passionate about post-acute rehabilitation and the older adult population.
Ability to relate and interact positively with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

Create, administer and organize individualized plans of treatment for patients.
Instruct clients in communication techniques, including sign language, lip reading and voice improvement.
Educate patients and families about communication techniques and strategies to cope with misunderstandings.
Coordinate with dietary department regarding rehabilitation meals for patients with swallow dysfunctions.
