Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech language pathology with CCC or CFY in progress.
• Licensed in the state where practicing.
• Experience or readiness to supervise staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and patient records to determine required speech therapy treatment.
• Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on evaluations.
• Confer with physicians to align treatment with overall care and obtain additional data.
• Record treatment, response, and progress of patients/residents.
• Assist in planning services and supervise speech therapy aides.
• Diagnose and evaluate speech and language competencies, including swallowing and related factors.
• Direct and conduct treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency.
• Maintain documentation for third-party reimbursement.
• Train new employees and participate in department meetings and policy updates.
• Ensure infection control and maintain confidentiality of information.
