Job summary

Excelsior Care Group seeks a Speech Therapist (SLP) to join the Isles of Boynton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s rehabilitation team on a PRN basis in Boynton Beach, FL. You will provide individualized speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy to residents to improve communication, function, and quality of life.

The role requires ASHA certification or eligibility, Florida licensure, CCC-SLP eligibility, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program.
• ASHA-certified or eligible for ASHA certification.
• Current or eligible for Florida Speech-Language Pathology licensure.
• CCC-SLP or eligible to obtain certification.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement speech-language therapy programs based on each resident’s needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Evaluate residents and provide interventions to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing.
• Assist residents in using adaptive communication devices when appropriate.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Monitor and document resident progress, modifying treatment programs as needed.
• Educate residents, families, and facility staff regarding speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
• Provide training and guidance to nursing and other staff regarding speech therapy techniques and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with standards.
