Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to support inpatient and outpatient therapy during high census periods or vacations.

The role involves assessing and treating speech and language disorders, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with physicians, families, and other clinicians. CFY/CCC eligibility and SC licensure with BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA accredited program.
• Clinical Fellowship Year eligible or CCC.
• SC state licensure required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and treats speech and language disorders and impairments.
• Develops treatment plans that utilize appropriate intervention approaches and materials.
• Establishes treatment priorities including advising, educating, and counseling.

Education

Postgraduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an ASHA accredited program

Clinical Fellowship Year eligible or CCC

SC state licensure required
