Job summary

Vail Health in Vail, CO seeks a PRN Sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations following established protocols and communicate results to radiologists and care teams. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and patient comfort in a fast-paced imaging environment.

The position requires ARRT/ARDMS credentials or eligibility, with RDMS/SONO certification and BLS. This role is PRN with pool shift rotation and benefits including wellbeing funds.

Qualifications

• Completion of all educational and clinical requirements to qualify for ARRT or ARDMS examination.

Responsibilities

• Perform all Sonographic examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
• Review each examination for technical accuracy, send completed examinations to radiologist, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
• Determine the best method of obtaining exams with minimal or no supervision.
• Monitor inventory of supplies and orders when stock is low.
• Keep the exam room stocked and neat.
• Identify each patient and review exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis.
• Review consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date.
• Maintain constructive collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, co-workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
• Maintain established department policies and procedures, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.
• Maintain working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
• Participate in departmental and team meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
