Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a PRN ultrasound sonographer at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. You will create diagnostic images, guide patients through exams, and work with the imaging team to ensure timely review and high-quality results.

Required ARRT/ARDMS certification with graduate of an approved program; licensure updates within 6 months. Prior experience preferred. Flexible PRN scheduling and access to advanced imaging technology are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography or Sonography Program; or CAAHEP-recognized Sonography Program.
• NH Medical Center-certified and ARRT in Sonography or ARDMS with at least one specialty (RT(S) or ARDMS) within 6 months of hire.
• NH Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility or Hospital Outpatient Department-certified and ARRT/ARDMS in at least one specialty.
• NH Medical Group Office-certified and ARRT/ARDMS in at least one specialty.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality diagnostic images using anatomy and pathology knowledge with ultrasound equipment.
• Guide patients through exams, tailoring approach to age and condition.
• Optimize each study following protocols while prioritizing image quality and patient safety.
• Evaluate images in real time for quality and completeness, adjusting as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and imaging team to ensure timely review.
