Summary:

As an Environmental Services Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our hospital remains a clean, aseptic, and orderly environment. You will be responsible for maintaining various areas, including patient rooms, offices, treatment and utility areas, nurse stations, conference rooms, waiting rooms, bathrooms, hallways, stairways, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean assigned areas using hospital-approved germicidal detergents, supplies, and equipment. Tasks include sweeping, dusting, mopping, buffing, scrubbing, and stripping floors.
  • Wash walls, light fixtures, sills, banisters, baseboards, doors, and more in rooms, offices, and elevators. Polish brass and stainless steel as needed.
  • Report any malfunctions in mechanical equipment (e.g., beds, lights) and any damage to walls, doors, or furniture to your supervisor.
  • Interact effectively with patients, visitors, and all levels of hospital personnel, demonstrating courtesy, compassion, sensitivity, and respect.
  • Move furniture and push or pull loaded or empty carts.
  • Collect and dispose of trash; clean and disinfect trash receptacles.
  • Damp dust furniture, apply stain-type polish, and hand buff furniture; arrange furniture as needed.
  • Clean and make up unoccupied beds as necessary.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including sinks, bathtubs, showers, toilets, bathroom tiles, and polished chrome fixtures. Replace supplies such as soap, towels, and toilet tissue.
  • Clean and disinfect isolation rooms, including ceilings, lights, walls, floors, furniture, and entire bathrooms; collect isolation linen and/or trash.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness, including janitorial carts and closets.
  • Work on varying shift schedules as needed.
Credentials:
  • High School Diploma/GED (Required)
  • 0-1 years of experience in institutional cleaning preferred
