Job summary

MultiCare Health System seeks a Security Officer to protect facilities, patients, staff and visitors across campuses. This PRN role handles general security, deters threats, and responds to emergencies with trained de‑escalation skills in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include enforcing policies, monitoring via detection devices, and employing appropriate restraint or access-control measures. A valid license, BLS, and First Aid within timelines are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Current WA or ID driver's license; driving not required.
  • IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in police, military, or security, preferably healthcare.
  • BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

  • Effectively operate/leverage required security equipment and tools.

Position Summary

The Security Officer is a key position on our Security Services team. In this role, you provide protection over MultiCare Health System properties and facilities. You will own the responsibility for the security and safety of MultiCare patients, employees, and visitors.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct general security in the protection of people and property and the enforcement of all applicable policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Deter criminal activity and misconduct utilizing tactical techniques.

Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Current Washington or Idaho state driver’s license (driving is not required for this position at Navos Hospital).
  • IAHSS basic certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire date.
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience in police, military, or security, preferable in a health care setting.
  • Proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MultiCare Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state. (Not required at Navos Hospital)
  • BLS certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • First Aid training within 30 days of hire.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.83 - $35.71 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
