Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Winchester is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) Skilled Care in Hillsboro, TN. This position is part of Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas, a Joint Commission-accredited hospital serving south-central Tennessee with locations in Winchester and Sewanee.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
2. Perform care plans including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
3. Document patient care accurately.
4. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
5. Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
6. Collaborate across disciplines for patient care coordination, transfers, discharges, and referrals.
7. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families.
8. Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned, including duties of CNA, MA, or LPN if required.
10. Participate in staff meetings, training, and committees.
11. Adhere to policies and procedures of Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas.
12. Work scheduled shifts, including overtime and call schedules.
13. Maintain professional appearance and comply with dress code.
14. Follow safety protocols related to occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
15. Report to the Director of Skilled Care.

Qualifications

1. Minimum Education: Associate's degree required.
2. Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, handle stressful situations, and take appropriate actions.
3. Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
4. License: Valid RN license in Tennessee or a Compact State with proper Tennessee paperwork filed within 30 days of hire.
