Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Winchester is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) Skilled Care in Sewanee, TN. This opportunity is with Highpoint Health, part of Ascension Saint Thomas, a Joint Commission-accredited hospital serving south-central Tennessee with locations in Winchester and Sewanee.

The city of Winchester offers a charming small-town atmosphere with access to larger cities like Chattanooga, Nashville, and Huntsville. Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, adhering to scope and standards of practice.
  • Perform interventions such as medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Document patient care accurately.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
  • Collaborate across disciplines for patient transfer, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support.
  • Educate patients and families tailored to their age, culture, and condition.
  • Advocate for the patient's physical and emotional well-being.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including duties of CNA, MA, or LPN when necessary.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, projects, and committees.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Work scheduled shifts, including overtime and call schedules, as required.
  • Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
  • Follow safety protocols regarding occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  • Report to the Director of Skilled Care.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's degree required.
  • Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, handle stress, and take appropriate actions.
  • Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
  • License: Active RN license in Tennessee or a Compact State with proper Tennessee documentation filed within 30 days of hire.
