Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Winchester is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) Skilled Care in Monteagle, TN. This opportunity is part of Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas, a Joint Commission-accredited hospital serving south-central Tennessee with locations in Winchester and Sewanee.

Job Responsibilities

1. Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, adhering to scope and standards of practice.
2. Perform interventions such as medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
3. Document all patient care activities accurately.
4. Monitor and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
5. Assist patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
6. Collaborate across disciplines for patient care coordination, transfers, discharges, and psychosocial support.
7. Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families.
8. Advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
9. Perform additional duties as assigned, including duties of CNA, MA, or LPN when necessary.
10. Participate in staff meetings, training, and committees.
11. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
12. Work scheduled shifts, including overtime and on-call as required.
13. Maintain professional appearance according to dress code.
14. Follow safety protocols related to occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
15. Report to the Director of Skilled Care.

Qualifications

1. Minimum Education: Associate's degree required.
2. Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and handle stressful situations.
3. Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
4. Licensure: Valid RN license in Tennessee or a Compact State with proper Tennessee registration within 30 days of hire.
