Southern Tennessee Regional Health System - Winchester is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) Skilled Care in Elora, TN. This opportunity is with Highpoint Health, part of Ascension Saint Thomas, a Joint Commission-accredited hospital serving south-central Tennessee with locations in Winchester and Sewanee.

The city of Winchester, situated at the foot of Sewanee Mountain, offers a charming small-town environment with access to major cities like Chattanooga, Nashville, and Huntsville. Job Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct patient care using the nursing process, adhering to scope and standards of practice.
  2. Perform care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  3. Document patient care accurately.
  4. Monitor and communicate patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  5. Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
  6. Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
  7. Educate patients and families tailored to their age, culture, and condition.
  8. Advocate for the patient's physical and emotional well-being.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned, potentially including tasks of CNA, MA, or LPN.
  10. Participate in staff meetings, training, and committees.
  11. Follow policies and procedures of Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas.
  12. Work scheduled shifts, including overtime and call schedules as required.
  13. Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code.
  14. Handle occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens responsibly.
  15. Report to the Director of Skilled Care.
Qualifications

Minimum Education: Associate's degree required.

Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work independently, and perform well under stress.

Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.

License: Must hold a valid RN license in Tennessee or a Compact State with proper Tennessee documentation filed within 30 days of hire.
