Job summary

Gaudenzia, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN 12-hour shifts in Baltimore. The role involves client care for individuals with substance use disorders and mental health stabilization, with a focus on assessments, medication administration, and coordination with health providers.

The position emphasizes critical thinking, adherence to policies, and teamwork, and may require rotating weekends. Compensation is $44-48 per hour, with full benefits typical of Gaudenzia roles.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing. Must have good standing RN license valid in the state in which clinical will practice. Must also possess current CPR Certification.
• Previous SUD Experience Required
• RN 1: May be recent graduate with up to one year experience.
• RN 2: Two to five years nursing experience, with one year in addictions, mental health, or related specialty.
• RN 3: Five or more years nursing experience, with two years in addictions, mental health, or related specialty

Responsibilities

• Perform initial nursing assessment for clients within 24 hours of admission in accordance with program policies and state regulations.
• Arrange appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers for complete physical examinations and health screenings.
• Administer medications and supervise self-administered medications where allowed by regulation.
• Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and accurate records.
• Counsel clients on nutrition, health care, self-care, symptom management, etc.
• Ensure clients have appropriate medical coverage for safety and provider compliance.
• Ensure proper storage of supplies as required by regulation.
• Assist in facilitating staff training, staff retreats, workshops and facility events.
• Implement health seminars (HIV/AIDS, nutrition, medication education, infectious diseases, mental health).
• Participate in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings; adhere to infection control policies.
• Provide education on health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance.
• Maintain LPN license with good standing.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Nurse Manager.
