Overview

PRN Registered Nurse - Patient Trainer (Non-Traditional Nursing Role). Location Requirement: Must reside within 25 miles of Waynesville, NC. This PRN (as-needed) role focuses on patient training and education rather than direct clinical care. As a Patient Trainer, you will instruct patients in their homes on how to use an INR (International Normalized Ratio) monitoring device to manage their blood clotting levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule training sessions directly with patients or caregivers.
  • Travel to patients' homes within your assigned territory.
  • Deliver one-on-one face-to-face training on proper device use.
  • Explain device features, data reporting methods, and available support resources.
  • Accurately complete and submit session documentation (approximately 30 minutes per session).
  • Maintain timely communication with the company via phone, email, and online platforms.
Schedule & Availability
  • This is a PRN (as-needed) role—no guaranteed hours.
  • Assignments are offered weekly and may be accepted or declined.
  • Trainers typically see 0-5 patients per week, depending on availability and demand.
  • Flexible scheduling: sessions may occur on weekdays or weekends.
  • Typical training session includes: 1 hour travel to the patient, 1 hour of training, 1 hour return travel, and 30 minutes of admin time.
  • Assignments are auto-assigned based on roundtrip mileage from your home; timely completion is expected when assignments are accepted.
Compensation
  • Hourly rate: $35.00–$45.00. Paid hourly for both travel and training time.
  • Federal mileage reimbursement provided.
Work Environment
  • Remote, field-based role.
  • Travel radius typically up to 50 miles from the hiring city.
  • Must use your own reliable transportation.
