Join Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus NICU, a Level IV 17-bed unit that delivers world-class care to newborns with complex conditions. The RN will work a 12-hour shift pattern across days, evenings, nights, and weekends, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based nursing and family education.

We seek candidates with an acute care RN background, BLS (and ACLS if CCU), and a commitment to exceptional patient outcomes. You will be supported by a collaborative team in a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ASN, BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross, must be presented on hire
  • ACLS certification (if in CCU area) must be presented on hire or within first year
  • One year of current acute care RN experience
  • External applicants must have two years recent related nursing experience
  • Internal applicants with less than two years may be considered with review
  • Pass prescreen competency assessments
  • Military RN experience will be considered

The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is a Level IV,state-of-the-art, 17-bed intensive care unit designed to care for newborns with the most complex medical needs. Our dedicated and highly trained caregivers deliver world-class patient care through an intricate nursing care model rooted in evidence-based practice, with a steadfast commitment to putting patients first. Our goal is for all professional nursing caregivers to provide the highest quality and safest care possible.

This unit also cares for mothers with high-risk pregnancies, including cases in which the mother, fetus, or both present with high-risk conditions. The nursing team activelyparticipatesin fetal surgeries and specialized procedures. Our team is at the forefront of obstetric care, performing advanced cases that are available at only a few centers worldwide.

APRN caregiver in this position works1** st and 3 rd **shift| 7:00am-7:30pm or 7:00pm-7:30am| 12-hoursshifts.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school ofProfessionalNursing(Diploma, ASN, BSN program)

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross(must be presented upon hire)

  • If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) throughAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment

  • One year of current acute care RN experience

  • External applicants must have twoyearsrecent related nursing experience
  • Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience but post orientation /90 dayprobationary period could be considered with Chief NursingOfficerlevel review and approval
  • Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessmentsrequired

  • Will consider licensed military RN experience

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
