Cleveland Clinic Akron General Bath Health and Wellness Center is hiring a PRN RN for the Emergency Department. You will join a team delivering high-quality care to adults and children with 24-hour ER support, backed by the Cleveland Clinic system.

The role involves direct nursing care, care plan implementation, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams. Requires RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and ED experience; multiple shift options available with 48 hours per 6-week period.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications either through AHA or Red Cross.
  • TNCC (adult) or ENPC (pediatric) within hire or 24 months of ED start.
  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience.
  • Internal applicants with less than two years may be considered with CNO approval.
  • Will consider licensed military RN experience.
  • Preferred: BSN; two years ED experience; critical care experience.

The Bath Health and Wellness Center Emergency Department offers 24-hour emergency care with board-certified, emergency medicine physicians who are available around-the-clock to provide comprehensive care to adults and children. Backed by the full resources of Cleveland Clinic Akron General and Cleveland Clinic, the Emergency Department provides advanced care in the Bath community. As an RN on the team, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. In this role, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. Here, you will have the chance to earn additional certifications, develop your skills, participate in unit-based council and have further involvement within the community.

A caregiver in this position works varying shifts, 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM. It is required to work 48 hours per 6-week period.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within one year of hire
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon hire or within 24 months of beginning work in the Emergency Department
  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing experience
  • Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period, could be considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
  • Will consider licensed military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years of Emergency Department experience
  • Critical care experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
