Job summary

HCA Florida West Hospital in Pensacola, FL is seeking an RN CVOR PRN to join our operating room team. You will contribute to preoperative assessment, patient education, and perioperative nursing care in a high-volume surgical environment.

This role emphasizes patient safety, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with surgeons, technologists, and physicians to deliver exceptional outcomes while maintaining flexibility in scheduling.

Qualifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• RN—Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and perioperative process
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols per hospital policy
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including providers, surgeons, and surgical technologists
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shift, and document changes in condition
• Educate patients and families about medical condition, treatment, and follow-up
