Job summary

The Woman's Hospital of Texas is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist to provide critical and routine respiratory care across multiple settings in our Houston facility. You will assess status, deliver therapy, manage ventilation and airways, and educate patients and families as part of a collaborative care team.

You will also maintain equipment, follow infection prevention standards, and participate in ongoing professional growth with mentorship from experienced RT leaders.

Qualifications

• Requires AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college.
• NBRC Registered Certification and Texas licensure required.
• BCLS and NRP required within six months of hire.
• PALS certification preferred.
• Unit-specific clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assessing respiratory status by performing focused exams and interpreting breath sounds.
• Delivering evidence-based therapy with oxygen, medications, airway clearance, and other treatments.
• Managing ventilation and airways with invasive and noninvasive support; monitor and respond to changes.
• Educating patients and families; serving as a clinical resource with the care team.
• Maintaining and sterilizing equipment; ensure readiness and infection-prevention standards.
