Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Brunswick Family Health Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for PRN shifts in Brunswick, Ohio. You will care for adult, pediatric and neonatal patients, evaluate and treat respiratory conditions, and lead care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Minimum qualifications include an accredited RT program graduate, RRT credential, Ohio licensure, BLS, and 3–5 years of critical care experience; a Bachelor’s degree and additional certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• Minimum 3–5 years critical care experience.
• Maintain site-specific competencies/certification for each Cleveland Clinic location.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP and NPS certifications preferred.
• Skills: active listening, collaboration, adaptability, critical thinking, accountability, independent working and receptiveness to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation to patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
• Direct respiratory caregivers for delivery of care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Assess patients for the appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop, implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluate respiratory practice, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
• Educate patients and families about the illness and provide information about community support groups and other programs.
