Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a PRN, nights Respiratory Therapist (Certified). The role involves delivering respiratory therapies from newborns to geriatrics, including ventilator support and diagnostic testing, under medical direction.
Required are a Certificate/ diploma in respiratory care, NBRC-CRT, KBRC license, and BLS; ACLS, PALS and NRP within the first year are expected. This position supports ongoing quality-improvement efforts and operational duties.
The certified respiratory therapist assesses, treats, and monitors patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. This includes the delivery of medicated and non-medicated therapy as ordered by the provider. Additionally, therapists provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure. As part of patient assessment and management, the therapist performs diagnostic test procedures. In addition, therapists assist in departmental operations by assisting with quality improvement projects, equipment and supplies. The certified therapist follows all applicable rules and regulations established by the licensure board depending on the state in which respiratory therapy is practiced.
