Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Care Associate (RCA) who is a student respiratory therapist. You will support licensed therapists under direct supervision, performing basic therapies and documenting care in the EMR.

You must be actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and have completed at least one semester of coursework. You will help with oxygen therapy setup, hygiene therapies, and patient education, while developing skills across pediatric to geriatric

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Active enrollment in a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program with at least one completed semester.
• Competency checklist signed by school program to validate coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assist with aerosolized and bronchial hygiene therapy for diverse patients.
• Demonstrate basic competency on MDI, DPI, nebulizer, and mucus clearance devices.
• Assist with non-invasive therapy for non-acute patients.
• Complete accurate documentation in the EMR, including charging.
• Stock, deliver, and reprocess respiratory therapy equipment with technicians.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining basic oxygen therapy and transport oxygen systems.
• Perform routine EKGs when needed; educate patients and families.
