Job summary

The Stravitz-Sanyal Liver Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a PRN MRI Technologist to join a world-renowned team of hepatologists, researchers and imaging experts in advancing liver and metabolic disease research. This role offers participation in translational molecular research imaging within a new facility featuring a state-of-the-art MRI scanner and equipment.

The successful candidate will have general MRI experience, MRI safety knowledge, and contrast administration

Qualifications

• Associate degree in radiologic technology or related field.
• Current MRI Certification (ARRT).
• CPR certification is required.
• Knowledge of magnetic and radiation safety and MRI scanning protocols.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-scan quality control and safety screenings for MRI participants.
• Consult with MRI Director/PI on device contraindications as needed.
• Execute MRI scans according to research protocols and document results.
• Administer imaging agents per ACR guidelines and monitor for reactions.
• Ensure MRI rooms are clean, organized and safe at all times.
• Coordinate with staff and leadership to improve workflow and efficiency.
• Assist in imaging data management, sequencing, and reporting.
