About The Position

PRN Sleep Technologist - RPSGT Needed.

MedBridge Healthcare is seeking an experienced RPSGT to work at our location in Monroe, GA. This position provides sleep services on an as-needed basis from 8pm-6am. Competitive hourly rates are available, depending on experience and patient ratio.

MedBridge is a leading provider of sleep laboratory management services and sleep therapy, partnering with hospitals and physician practices to offer comprehensive, fully integrated services for patient identification, testing, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care management of sleep disorders.

Position Description and Responsibilities

A Polysomnographic Technologist/Technician works under the supervision of the clinical director (M.D., D.O.) or designee to evaluate and treat sleep disorders, including in-center and out-of-center sleep testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, patient care, and education. A sleep technologist performs duties similar to a sleep technician but also provides oversight of other staff and is credentialed in sleep technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and analyze patient information to identify needs and determine testing parameters in collaboration with physicians and protocols.
  • Complete and verify documentation, and explain procedures to patients.
  • Prepare and calibrate equipment, verify operation, and apply electrodes and sensors per standards.
  • Perform physiologic calibrations and PAP mask fitting.
  • Follow procedural protocols for sleep studies, including MSLT, MWT, parasomnia studies, and oxygen titration.
  • Monitor and acquire polysomnographic data, ensuring signal quality and making adjustments as needed.
  • Document observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, to facilitate scoring.
  • Implement interventions like PAP and oxygen therapy, ensuring patient safety.
  • Score sleep and clinical events, generate reports, and ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain safety standards, perform equipment maintenance, and evaluate inventory.
  • Maintain current CPR/BLS certification and demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and analyze complex situations in accordance with policies.
Physical Demands

Employees must stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and have good vision. They may need to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and operate office equipment with their hands.

Continuity of Care

Ensure coordinated care during shifts, with proper documentation of handovers.

Dress code: Well-fitting scrubs or business casual with a lab coat.
