Job summary

Alliance Spine and Pain Centers is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for our Sandy Springs ASC. The role focuses on pre-op, intraop, and post-anesthesia care across the ambulatory setting, with no weekends, no overnight shifts, and no on-call responsibilities.

Schedule expected to be 8–16 hours per week, on-site in Sandy Springs, GA. Ideal candidates have at least six months of nursing experience, are graduates of an accredited program, and hold an active Georgia nursing license with BLS and ACLS

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
• Current Georgia nursing license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Completion of all mandatory training.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Op: review charts, assess and educate patients, start IVs, narcotic documentation.
• OR Circulator: circulate during procedures, prep room, perform safety time-out, document times.
• PACU: monitor recovery from sedation, report outliers, provide discharge instructions and med info.
• General: ensure patient safety, HIPAA compliance, complete daily documentation, coordinate post-op follow-ups.

No weekends, no overnights and you'll never be On-Call! This is a PRN position with an expected schedule of 8-16 hours per week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre-Op Nurse:

• Prepare charts while reviewing patient’s history, prior to arrival
• Perform pre-operative assessments and patient education
• Assist with IV starts during pre-operative prep of patient
• Assist with the medication counts and accurate documentation of narcotic log

OR Circulator:

• Circulate and assist Physician and surgical tech during procedures
• Prepare the operating room. Restock medications and supplies
• Perform time out prior to beginning the procedure
• Communicate with Physicians and care team to ensure safe and accurate patient information is relayed
• Documentation of operative note and times
• Coordinate with scheduling staff to schedule patient’s follow up visit

PACU:

• Observe and assess patient while recovering from moderate sedation
• Report any necessary assessment outliers to Physician
• Provide patient’s discharge education, prescriptions and return appointment information
• Document assessment data in the medical record

General:

• Ensure safety of patients during procedure visit
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, center and physician related information per HIPAA guidelines
• Ensure regulatory compliance is upheld by completing necessary daily documentation
• Provide pre-operative phone calls to ensure education and pre-procedure instructions are received
• Assist team with next day post-operative phone calls
• Perform other task as assigned by charge nurse, administrator or providers
• Document and maintain appropriate workflow in patient’s electronic medical record

Education and/or Experience:

• Must have six months of recent nursing experience
• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
• Current Georgia nursing license, BLS, ACLS, and completion of all mandatory training are required
• Ability to effectively use the equipment, instruments, and supplies necessary to perform assigned responsibilities
