Description

St. Dominic Villa, an Illuminus Community, is hiring PRN Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). We are located among the rolling hills of the picturesque driftless region in southwest Wisconsin, just south of Platteville and a short 10-minute drive from Dubuque, Iowa. Open to all, St. Dominic Villa offers long-term skilled nursing care and short-term rehab to older adults and is a truly peaceful place to live and work.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • PRN positions
  • AM, PM or NOC shifts
  • 8 hour or 12 hour shifts available
  • LPN: $26.00-31.00 per hour, based on experience
  • RN: $35.00-$43.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Shift Differential for PM and NOC Shifts
  • A casual team member (PRN) is required to: work six shifts per month; at least three of the shifts must be on a weekend; work one summer and one winter holiday (as available).

Our LPN provides prescribed medical treatment under the general supervision of a registered nurse.

The Registered Nurse RN will identify, provide for, and accept responsibility for the fulfillment of resident’s total nursing needs. This includes all nurse practice activities up to and including assessments, medication administration and monitoring, documentation, all while ensuring the provision of person-centered care.

LPN ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
  • Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Responsible for on-call services, as assigned.
  • Leads, guides and develops certified nursing assistants and resident assistants in the provision of quality care.
  • Supervises the duties of certified nursing assistants and resident assistants.
  • Performs medical treatments and reports status to the registered nurse.
  • Reports resident changes in condition promptly to the registered nurse.
  • Performs all necessary related functions, such as blood pressure checks and pulses in conjunction with the medication pass as needed.
  • Participates in following and updating plans of care.
  • Promotes resident-centered care.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

RN ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with all individuals.
  • Maintains a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Coordinate and delegate care of the residents so that compliance is assured with local, State and Federal regulations and administrative policies.
  • Assures quality of care adhering to best practices around infection prevention and control provided by the nursing department.
  • Responsible for routine checks of residents who are ill or have problems, noting any changes in condition and assisting staff in responding to these changes.
  • Conveys accurate and adequate assessment information to physicians, residents, responsible parties and staff as appropriate.
  • Performs medical treatments and evaluates their effectiveness.
  • Responsible for the support, development and supervision of certified nursing assistant and medication administration assistant personnel.
  • Investigates any incident report or error in procedure through the quality assurance and process improvement methodology.
  • Attains and maintains adequate personnel and supplies in the nursing department.
  • Assesses resident care needs and assists in the development of individual plans of care as needed.
  • Changes staff assignments as needed and attains replacements as needed.
  • Participates in committee meetings and interdepartmental meetings that align with Quality Assurance Process Improvement Standards.
  • Will follow all department safety rules.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Active CPR
  • Knowledge and/or experience in geriatrics.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with state and federal regulations.
  • Commitment to quality outcomes and services for all individuals.
  • Ability to relate well to all individuals.
  • Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
