Job summary

Devoted Care Hospice seeks a compassionate PRN Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing care for hospice patients in homes and care facilities across San Antonio and surrounding areas.

You will participate in weekday, weekend, and on-call coverage, performing routine visits, assessments, and symptom management while coordinating with the hospice team to ensure 24/7 patient support.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• CPR certification required.

Weekday, Weekend & On-Call Coverage

Devoted Care Hospice is seeking compassionate, experienced Registered Nurses to join our growing PRN team. We are currently looking for nurses who enjoy autonomy, thrive in the field, and are available to provide weekday, weekend, and on-call support. Position Overview

As a PRN Hospice RN, you will provide skilled nursing care to hospice patients in their homes, assisted living facilities, nursing facilities, and other care settings. This role includes routine patient visits as well as participation in our on-call rotation, providing after-hours triage and urgent visits when needed to ensure our patients receive exceptional care 24 hours a day.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine and PRN skilled nursing visits.
• Provide after-hours and weekend on-call support as scheduled.
• Respond to urgent patient needs with timely assessments and interventions.
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Manage pain and symptoms using hospice best practices.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary hospice team.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with admissions, deaths, and other urgent hospice needs when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Minimum one year of RN experience required.
• Hospice experience strongly preferred.
• Home health, ICU, ER, oncology, or palliative care experience is a plus.
• Strong assessment and independent critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and compassionate bedside manner.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance.
• Current CPR certification.
