Job summary

MEDIKO is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care at the Pender County Jail in Burgaw, NC. You will administer medications, treat acute and chronic conditions, and coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure quality care for inmates.

The role requires NC RN licensure, 1–3 years in healthcare (correctional experience is a plus), and current CPR/BLS. Expect varied shifts and opportunities to grow in a mission-driven correctional healthcare setting.

Qualifications

Current and valid RN licensure in North Carolina.
1–3 years in healthcare, preferably correctional care.
CPR/BLS certification required before start date.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations in correctional settings.

Responsibilities

Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per orders.
Care for patients with chronic/acute conditions and mental health issues.
Respond to medical emergencies with appropriate interventions.
Document promptly and accurately in patient records.
Ensure compliance with regulations and facility policies.
Collect and contribute to quality improvement data.
Collaborate with physicians, mental health professionals, and officers.
Educate inmates on health management and post-care instructions.
Mentor nursing staff and oversee day-to-day operations in absence of management.
