Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare and food service team at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. You will identify and assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions to improve patients' nutritional status, and enhance quality of life aligned with patient goals.

This position typically schedules 8–16 hours per week and emphasizes education of patients and staff, adherence to Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field.
• Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination by the CDR or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, via the portfolio process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining service and nutrition.
• Participating in development, review, and revision of quality improvement programs.
