Hygienist

Classification: PRN/Part-time

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Dental Hygiene Manager

Supervision Responsibilities: No

Essential Role: Provides professional dental hygienist services to support primary dental care at GraceMed Health Clinic, Inc.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Develops and implements individualized dental care plans; performs patient education, discharge planning, and teaching under the supervision of a qualified dentist.
• Assesses dental condition and needs; uses patient screening procedures.
• Delivers direct patient care, including cleaning, polishing, x-rays, sealants, and fluorides.
• Documents dental history, chief complaints, lab procedures, and patient reactions; reports observations to staff.
• Assists with emergency measures during treatment.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and maintains clinical supplies.
• Prepares patient care areas and assists with patient admission, transfer, discharge, and routine office duties.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Assists in developing and documenting protocols related to job functions.

Qualifications

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

• Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program.
• Current licensure as a Dental Hygienist in Kansas.
• CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days).

Experience

• Previous dental office experience preferred.
• Previous computer experience preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including computers.
• Ability to work independently and organize tasks.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Maintains licensure and certifications, including CME requirements.
• Understanding of confidentiality ethics.

Work Schedule

Working Conditions

Dental office environment; sitting/standing for long periods; lifting up to 50 lbs; interaction with patients and staff; potential exposure to blood and body fluids; visual and manual dexterity required.
