Job summary

The Vines Hospital in Ocala, FL is seeking a qualified PRN Recreation Therapist to join our behavioral health team. The therapist plans, organizes, coordinates and leads recreation therapy activities aimed at restoring and maintaining patients’ physical and psychosocial functioning.

Responsibilities include assessing each patient within 72 hours of admission and documenting daily progress toward recreation goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy with CTRS certification required.
• Two (2) years of experience providing Recreation Therapy in a psychiatric setting with an adult population or a Long Term Care setting preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) required. Current CPR and First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate and lead recreation therapy activities.
• Assess each patient within seventy-two (72) hours of admission and complete daily progress notes on patient’s participation toward recreation goals.
• Ensure the program is appropriate to the needs, interests and capacities of patients and directed toward restoring and maintaining functioning.
