Job description

Join to apply for the PRN - Radiology Technologist - Days/Nights role at Ally Medical.

This position involves assisting physicians and registered nurses with basic patient care within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Nurse Director. Additionally, the role requires operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) and CT scans of the body for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive care to patients under the direction of the registered nurse in charge and/or physician.
  • Perform patient skill sets such as measuring height and weight, vital signs, IV initiations, blood draws, and documenting as needed to assist with patient care.
  • Perform diagnostic testing using x-ray and/or CT equipment following physician’s orders and protocols.
  • Produce quality images and upload them for radiology reads/interpretations.
  • Apply proper techniques during diagnostic testing and lab procedures.
  • Report lab and radiology results immediately to the nurse and/or physician.
  • Assist with assessments, examinations, and treatments.
  • Assist with other duties such as crutch walking, dressing changes, and splint or cast application.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of current trends and techniques in x-ray technology.
  • Ability to learn to conduct quality control studies, operate computerized radiologic equipment, and use computers for recordkeeping.
  • Basic computer skills.
Education & Experience
  • Associate degree in Applied Science or equivalent with diploma/certification from an accredited Radiology Technologist program.
  • At least two years of experience as a Radiology Technologist in a hospital or emergency room setting.
  • ARRT Certification required.
  • CPR/BLS Certification required.
  • Current license from the Texas Department of State Health Service for Radiology Technologist required.
Additional Requirements
  • Prolonged standing, reaching, and bending.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical strength and agility to position patients for diagnostic exams.
  • Compliance with privacy, security laws, and internal policies.
  • Protection of credentials and confidentiality of data.
  • Adherence to the Company’s Information Security Policy.
  • Participation in annual Security Awareness Training.
