Job summary

Qualifications

  • BLS certification required.
  • Competency in chest, extremities, spine, skull, podiatry or DEXA.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ARRT or modality competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Prepare patients, verify orders, and ensure accurate imaging.
  • Review images for quality and adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Instruct students and other staff on exam protocols and equipment.
  • Maintain patient comfort and provide education as needed.
  • Follow infection control, QC, and reporting procedures.

Join Our Team as a Radiology Technologist!

We are seeking a PRN Radiology Technologist to join our healthcare team at the Logan Instacare and North Cache Valley Instacare.

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams on patients using specialized equipment. You will work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

This position will cover the Logan Instacare and North Cache Valley Instacare. Hours at the Logan Instacare are Sunday to Saturday from 8 AM to 7 PM. Hours at North Cache Valley Instacare are Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 7 PM.

Caregiver may be hired on as an RT or Limited Scope Radiographer, depending on qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions
  • Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  • Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality. Assists and instructs students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
  • Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
  • Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
  • Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
  • Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
  • Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.

Limited Scope Radiographer Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensure as a Practical Radiologic Technologist/Limited Scope Operator in state of practice or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Board Registry Eligible per state requirements.

  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

  • Competency in at least one of the following areas: Chest, Extremities, Spine, Skull, Podiatry, Bone Densitometry (DEXA).

RT Minimum Qualifications
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(R) certification
  • Radiologic technologist license in state of practice (if applicable)
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • May be required to complete the Medical Assistant (MA) Competency Checklist and perform the function of an MA in a clinic or InstaCare setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years radiology experience
  • IV Certification
Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
