Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Per Diem Radiographer to perform general imaging and fluoroscopy, support radiologists, and ensure patient safety. You will operate imaging equipment, position patients, and assist the team in delivering high-quality diagnostic studies.

ARRT-eligible radiographers who maintain CE credits and CPR certification are encouraged to apply. This on-site role at 145 King of Prussia Rd supports department needs with flexible scheduling and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • ARRT eligible and registered within one year.
  • Graduate from an approved Radiologic Technology Program.
  • CPR certification and CE credits required.

Responsibilities

  • Review x-ray requisitions to determine exam type and views.
  • Operate radiology equipment to produce high-quality images.
  • Greet patients, confirm identity, and explain procedures.
  • Utilize RIS and PACS in daily workflow.
  • Adhere to OSHA, TJC, DOH safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain inventory for the workstation and rotate stock.
  • Participate in clinical education of Radiology students.
  • Monitor patient status and respond to emergencies.
  • Establish good relationships within the facility and with external customers.
  • Call in results of STATS as determined by Radiologist.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Looking for a Per Diem Radiographer
Location: 145 King of Prussia Rd.
Schedule: Per Departmental Need

Summary: Performs a variety of general imaging and Fluoroscopic procedures, is responsible for patient safety protocols and assists the Radiologists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Performs all routine diagnostic radiographic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices. Will function as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishments of their imaging needs. Will treat all patients professionally.

  • Review x-rays requisitions to determine type of exam, pertinent clinical history and views ordered prior to the actual radiographing of the patient
  • Operates radiology equipment using proper techniques and patient positioning to produce high-quality images. Aids radiologists, doctors and other UPHS team members in completing procedures according to applicable protocol.
  • Greets patients--confirming their identifications performing the correct procedures as directed and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed
  • Effectively operate the organizational RIS and PACs systems throughout their daily workflow
  • Compliance with OSHA, TJC, DOH and other mandated safety procedures or regulations.
  • Maintains necessary inventory supplies for assigned workstation, rotating stock in an orderly fashion and eliminating outdated items
  • Participates in the clinical education of Radiology students as appropriate
  • Monitors the patient’s status, tolerance and well-being throughout and after the study. Responds to emergency situations according to department policies
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships and partnerships within the facility and with outside customers of our services.
  • Calls in results of STATS and other cases as determined by the Radiologist and department policy
  • Other duties, as assigned
Credentials
  • ARRT eligible and registered within one year (Required)
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent Graduate from an approved Radiologic Technology Program (Required)
  • Must be ARRT eligible and registered within one year (Required)
  • Must maintain CE credits for certification (Required)
  • Current CPR certification (Required)
