Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Radiation Therapy Assistant to support Radiation Therapists in patient care and transport within the Radiation Oncology department. You will assist with patient transfer, observation, and data entry into ARIA and O2 systems, ensuring timely treatment and smooth workflow.

Roles involve preparing treatment rooms, communicating patient condition changes, and providing education to patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate required.
• Less than 1 year of experience preferred.
• 3–6 months experience with caring for acute, ED, or long-term care patients is preferred.
• Experience as an MA, EMT, or LPN is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide constant patient observation in the care area.
• Coordinate information between nursing unit and Radiation Therapy staff.
• Access EMR/ARIA/O2 to prepare and review patient data.
• Transport patients to and from Radiation Oncology department.
• Explain procedures and provide patient education as needed.
