Job summary

Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Public Safety Officer I (PRN) to join the safety team. You will patrol, respond to emergencies, provide escorts and customer service, and help maintain a secure, welcoming environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff.

This as-needed role covers rotating shifts and weekends, requiring flexibility and focus on safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain driving privileges.
• Must be 21+ or have related security experience.
• CPR, Stop the Bleed, Narcan, and de-escalation training completed or to be completed.
• DC Security Officer License or ability to file and obtain within 2–6 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas of the hospital, including patient care units and entrances.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control points.
• Provide escorts, directions, and customer service support.
• Screen visitors and enforce safety policies.
• Complete incident reports and maintain documentation.
