University of Utah Health is seeking a PRN Psychiatric Technician to provide a safe, supportive environment for psychiatric patients and assist with basic care needs at Huntsman Mental Health Institute in Salt Lake City.

Responsibilities include observing patient behavior, assisting with admissions, leading group activities, and contributing to treatment planning under the supervision of registered nurses. Prior behavioral health experience is preferred.

Competenze

• Six months of behavioral health or direct patient care experience.
• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system; must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Mansioni

• Assist with maintaining a safe and hazard-free environment by observing and documenting patient behavior and applying appropriate support.
• Assist with admission of new patients and orient patients and families to policies.
• Escort patients to appointments using therapeutic interventions to ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Lead activity groups and provide supportive therapy to select patients.
• Participate in treatment planning, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary care team discussions.
