Job summary

Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) for primary care in Asheville, NC. Coverage ranges 16 to 30 hours weekly, with assignment anticipated from September through December 2026 at Minnie Jones Health Center, open 7:30 am–6 pm, Monday–Friday.

The RN will deliver patient-centered care, perform assessments, vaccinations, chronic disease management, and patient education, and support triage both walk-in and phone.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or associate’s degree in nursing (ADN).
• BLS/ CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Assessments & Procedures: conduct physical exams, vital signs, wound care, immunizations, co-visits with providers.
• Chronic Disease Management: monitor diabetes, asthma, hypertension; adjust meds per protocol.
• Patient Education & Counseling: guidance on healthy lifestyles and preventive care.
• Administrative & Coordination: document histories, manage records, coordinate care.
• Triage: provide over-the-phone and in-person triage.
