Our busy ophthalmology surgery center provides outpatient surgical procedures to Rocky Hill, CT and the surrounding communities. We are looking for a Preop/PACU Registered Nurse who is a team player, detail oriented, and committed to delivering excellent care to our patients.

Shift: Day Shift

Position Description

The Preop/PACU Registered Nurse position is responsible for direct nursing care of patients in the pre-operative and post-anesthesia care unit. The Preop/PACU Registered Nurse is knowledgeable in all areas of perioperative nursing, post-anesthesia recovery, pain management, and patient teaching.

Requirements

• PACU/Critical Care experience preferred.
• Ophthalmology experience a plus.
• Knowledge and clinical skills to perform the job duties of a Pre-op/PACU nurse.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• A knowledge of aseptic technique, anesthetic agents and complications, and the ability to handle emergency situations in a professional manner.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and have an ability to work compatibly with all physicians and staff.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Possess strong organizational skills, and a clear understanding of the importance of efficiency and cost-effectiveness in an ambulatory surgery center.
