Job summary

Paramount Community Living and Rehab is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility team in Newton, KS. This PRN position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work closely with physical therapists and nursing staff to provide high-quality rehabilitation services for residents.

The PTA will help improve mobility, strength, and overall quality of life through personalized care, education, and hands-on therapy.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure or certification as a PTA in Kansas.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support physical therapists in implementing and adjusting treatment plans.
• Document patient data, progress notes and therapy responses.
• Educate patients and families on exercises, equipment use and home programs.
• Set up and maintain therapeutic equipment and assist devices.
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Follow facility policies, safety protocols and maintain a clean therapy area.
