Job summary

AdventHealth Calhoun is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for PRN shifts in Georgia. You will perform venipuncture and specimen collection, support daily lab workflows, and ensure accurate handling of specimens. The role requires flexibility to cover call-ins and weekend needs.

Ideal candidates will have a phlebotomy training background, familiarity with lab equipment, and strong communication skills in English. Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred and physical requirements apply.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Work Schedule: PRN, any shift needed for call ins and vacation. Call required 1 weekend a month.

• Transports hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area, completing required training for proper handling and transport.
• May troubleshoot phlebotomy service concerns and coordinate daily workload assignments.
• Supports leadership with daily workflow and problem resolution.
• Serves as an example of professional phlebotomy performance.
• Performs venipuncture and microtainer collection accurately and efficiently.

• Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment. Required
• Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc. Required
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English. Required
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Required
• Phlebotomy (venipuncture and capillary) Preferred; completion of a phlebotomy training program Required for certain positions.
• Familiarity with using computers, telephone, fax, copier, printers, and various laboratory equipment including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank and microbiology analyzers, glucometers, incubators, environmental hood, monitored refrigerators and freezers, centrifuges, phlebotomy chairs, and supplies.
• Required for certain roles.
• Excellent verbal, written, and clerical skills. Required for specific job functions.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv Required
• Technical/Vocational School Preferred

Field Of Study

• Completion of a phlebotomy training program preferred

Work Experience

• Phlebotomy experience Preferred

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Preferred
• Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) Preferred

Pay Range

$15.31 - $24.93
