Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, Georgia is seeking a dedicated night-shift Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. You will transport hazardous waste, assist with the department orientation, and mentor new staff while ensuring competency documentation is complete.

Responsibilities include prioritizing specimen receipt, coordinating daily workload, and addressing phlebotomy service concerns to maintain accurate and timely results for patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months phlebotomy experience required.

Responsibilities

• Transports hazardous waste from the point of generation to a designated secure storage area, completing required training for proper handling and transport.
• Assists with department orientation and trains laboratory staff and students.
• Mentors new employees and ensures competency documentation is completed.
• Troubleshoots phlebotomy service concerns and coordinates daily workload assignments.
• Prioritizes routine specimen receipt in the laboratory on a first-in, first-out basis, with stat and alert specimens prioritized before routine orders.

Work Schedule: 9pm-7:30am

• Demonstrates understanding and adherence to the Chemical Hygiene plan and Infection Control policies. Assists with department orientation and trains laboratory staff and students.
• Mentors new employees and ensures competency documentation is completed.

• Prioritizes routine specimen receipt in the laboratory on a “first in – first out” basis, with stat and alert specimens prioritized before routine orders.

Education:

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience:

Pay Range:

$15.58 - $24.93
