A Day in the Life

As an Automation Pharmacy Technician 4, you will support Omnicell’s XR2 system, a groundbreaking automation technology for medication inventory management. Your responsibilities include equipment management, inventory oversight, documentation, and customer communication to build strong relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Operate Omnicell automation systems according to SOPs and best practices.
  • Manage medication inventory levels and perform return/restocking duties.
  • Maintain automation equipment, troubleshoot issues, and report unresolved problems.
  • Perform regular cleaning and inspections of equipment.
  • Monitor system trends, resolve common issues, and communicate proactively with customers and pharmacy managers.
  • Provide training and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain certifications and credentialing as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active State Board of Pharmacy license/registration
  • Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program
  • Two years of experience in hospital pharmacy automation
Work Conditions
  • Ability to travel for training
  • Pharmacy environment with 8-10 hour shifts
  • Potential for outside normal hours and exposure to hazardous drugs
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
