Job summary

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) seeks a PRN Pharmacist for our Leesville, LA location. The pharmacist will dispense medications, counsel patients, and ensure accuracy and safety in all Rx operations.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Louisiana.

Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription drugs to patients accurately and efficiently as part of the Rx team.
• Ensure prescription accuracy and proper information is conveyed to management and patients.
• Educate patients about medications and monitoring; provide drug information.
• Maintain pharmacy compliance and documentation; oversee inventory and audits.
• Communicate with providers regarding proper utilization of medications.
• Maintain licenses and certifications in a timely manner.

Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center (ICCHC) and its satellite health centers are the leading providers of primary health care services in the communities we serve, including individuals who are both insured and uninsured. ICCHC provides multi-disciplinary, comprehensive health care services, and pharmacy services.

ICCHC is currently seeking a PRN Pharmacist for our Leesville, LA location.

The Pharmacist is a member of the senior management team. The Pharmacists are responsible for dispensing prescription drugs to patients. They provide information about those drugs and help patients understand the instructions their doctors or other health practitioners provided. They monitor their patients' health and progress to make sure their medications are working effectively and safely.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• D ispenses prescription drugs to patients accurately and efficiently
• Ensures the accuracy of prescriptions given to patients and information given to management
• Provides information and education to patients concerning their prescription medications
• Will master Parata Automation and all software utilized by Rx Staff
• Ensures the accuracy and oversight of all medications entering and leaving the Rx Department
• Maintain a clean and orderly department
• Enforce the policies within the Pharmacy department including no food or eating in the work area, no unauthorized visitors, etc...
• Stay abreast of all laws governing the safe and effective operations of the pharmacy department
• Conduct inventories of prescription medications as necessary to ensure accurate counts for internal/external audits
• Notify the CEO of all inquiries, audits, or compliance issues concerning the Pharmacy department in a timely manner
• Correspond and communicate effectively with providers concerning proper utilization of prescription medications
• Maintain all required licenses and certifications in a timely manner
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Director and CEO
