Job Purpose
NEW PRN POOL NEW PRN RATES $20/HR PLUS TRAVEL INCREASE IF DRIVING MORE THAN AN HOUR
The PRN PCA (Per Diem Personal Care Assistant) at HOMECARE COMPANY OF TENNESSEE LLC is responsible for providing compassionate and personalized care to clients in their homes. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for clients by assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Help clients with mobility and physical activities, including transferring and positioning.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary needs and preferences, ensuring proper nutrition.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized living space.
- Monitor and report changes in clients' health or behavior to the healthcare team.
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals to meet clients' individual needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and any incidents or changes observed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards of care to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
Required Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Experience
- Previous experience in a personal care assistant (PCA) or similar role is preferred.
- Experience in providing care to elderly or disabled individuals in a homecare setting is advantageous.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and instructions from healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in basic caregiving tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a strong sense of empathy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in client care.
- Basic knowledge of emergency response and first aid procedures.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client homes within the service area.
