Job summary

The Homecare Company of Tennessee is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide non‑medical, hands‑on support in clients' homes under RN supervision. You will assist with ADLs and IADLs to promote safety, comfort, and independence, while maintaining client dignity and privacy.

You will perform light housekeeping, meal prep, companionship, and transportation support as needed, documenting observations and staying HIPAA compliant.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
• Must have a valid driver's license and car insurance.
• Must have reliable transportation without needing assistance from another person.
• Ability to read, write, and carry out directions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene.
• Support mobility including transferring, positioning, and ambulation as directed by the RN.
• Assist with feeding and hydration per care plan.
• Observe and report changes in client condition to supervising nurse immediately.

• Prepare meals following dietary guidelines provided by RN or physician.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance well-being.
• Run errands or accompany clients to appointments when approved.
• Accurately document care and observations in daily visit notes.
• Communicate effectively with nurse, care team, and family.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides non-medical, hands-on assistance to clients in their homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
