Job summary

SummitRidge Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, is seeking a PRN / As-Needed Patient Sitter in Lawrenceville, GA. You will provide continuous observation and gentle supervision to patients to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment on our nursing team.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, reliable transportation, and BLS/CPR certification. Prior behavioral health or patient care experience is preferred, with strong communication and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation and be able to report to work within 30 minutes of contact.
• Previous experience in behavioral health, patient care, or a related healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong observation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain alert, calm, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, flexible, and able to work independently while following instructions.
• Must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous, one-to-one, or close observation of assigned patients as directed by clinical staff.
• Maintain a safe environment by monitoring patient behavior and promptly reporting concerns to the nursing team.
• Assist in reducing the risk of harm to self or others through attentive observation and timely intervention.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, nursing staff, and the care team.
• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and direction from licensed personnel.
• Document observations and report changes in patient status as required.
• Support a calm, respectful, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
