Job summary

Sonic Healthcare USA is seeking a Pathologist Assistant to support anatomic pathology at MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, WA. This PRN role involves grossing, description, and dissection of tissue specimens with a focus on accurate, high-quality results.

You will work in a fast-paced lab environment, adhere to safety and quality standards, and contribute to patient care alongside a dedicated team. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s Pathologist Assistant program from a NCCLS accredited institution.
• 1 year of laboratory experience grossing all tissue types, from simple to complex.
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists BOC.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform gross description, dissection, and preparation of tissue surgical specimens for histological examination.
• Recognize when corrective actions are needed and implement solutions.
• Work in a fast-paced laboratory with biological and chemical hazards.
• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.

In this role, you will:

• Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions

• Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:

• Bachelor of Science or Masters Pathologist Assistant program from a NCCLS accredited institution
• 1 year of laboratory experience grossing all tissue types from simple to complex
• Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists BOC
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
